Focus on Local Outreach

Young Nak English Ministry is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for the local Toronto families. We are active in this project through fundraising and direct manual building of the sponsored home. View our awareness video trailer.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-government, charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of economically disadvantaged persons through home ownership and to the belief that decent, affordable housing is a basic human need. As part of our local outreach initiatives, Young Nak EM is involved in the HFH construction project at 4200 Kingston Road, a 19 townhouse condominium project with a completion date scheduled for Fall, 2007. Our congregation is aiming to fund one entire house for a family and the target fundraising goal is $80,000 which will be raised though various fundraising events. Our Christmas gingerbread house buliding contest was a great success and we were able to raise over $1000 for HFM. Please support our on-going events throughout the year! In this year's offering envelopes, we have included special blue 'missions' envelopes for donations. We are asking to members to please contribute beyond their regular amount for this special cause.
